About this deal

As shipped, the motherboard tray, while marked with standoffs installed for ATX motherboards, we see some things that we are not fond of. The inclusion of five USB3 ports (even if only one is a Gen 2 Type-C) adds a measure of practicality to the panache and even gives us something to do with that second Gen 1 header found on so many higher-spec motherboards.

The cable channel works quite well because of the thick Velcro strips, but adding a few zip ties helps pin things down even more. In addition to the mounted cable straps that hold factory-installed cables, the iCUE 5000T RGB includes six cable straps that can be optionally installed on the strap bracket that surrounds its RGB controller.Vibrant RGB Lighting from Any Angle: With 160 RGB LEDs integrated into the front, roof, and floor panels, plus 48 LEDs in the included fans, you’ll get fully customisable RGB lighting. Also, know that radiator support matches the fan options, but there is one caveat, you cannot use a radiator in the front and on the motherboard tray simultaneously.

While we like the -_- seen at the back edge of the cover and the new //5000T name placement, it comes with an issue. One of my pet peeves with computer cases is when they don’t leave enough room to easily plug and unplug power cables after the PC is built. AIO Chassis as the base of the machine, we are able to provide the ultimate in experiences never before seen in an All In One form factor. Tearing the chassis down this far in the front did make us realize how much easier the chassis will be to work with, and then when near completion, we reinstall this portion of the chassis. At the back of the chassis, you will find a total of nine expansion slots, seven normal horizontal ones, and a pair of vertical slots for those wanting that look. Hotjar sets this cookie to know whether a user is included in the data sampling defined by the site's daily session limit. There are more wires inside the chassis for the iCUE Commander Core XT, but we omitted them due to the shortness of the cable and inability to get them into an image cleanly.

That said, when you look at the case in its powered-off state, it doesn’t look like a case that was designed to be lit up like the Las Vegas strip, which is oddly my favorite part about the 5000T. Thermally, the iCUE 5000T RGB is one of the better cases we have seen when moving beyond a pass-fail test system. When it comes to the back of the iCUE 5000T RGB, the top starts with some open ventilation above the rear I/O opening and rear fan mounting location, which is also adjustable. There is a hardware box that shipped inside the HDD cage, and upon opening it, we found this for the hardware. What may appear to be cooling vents in the top, front and floor are actually better described as viewing ports for the ARGB lighting. The drive cage’s first position forward gives the power supply another 20mm of space while impinging on the lowest fan mount of the side panel bracket. We found a paltry 175mm of clearance for the power supply’s casing in the as-delivered configuration, though there’s obviously more room above those screws for the power supply’s cables. While the various options to set the fans have different fan curves that react differently, all modes get the fans close to the maximum 1600 RPM. One of them is Corsair, who has done things we have not appreciated along the way, but most of their gear is top-notch and comes backed with seriously full feature sets.
