About this deal

The pressing had a little static out of the sleeves so I would recommend swapping to poly lined sleeves.

The depressing and stubborn reality is that commercially successful British female rappers remain rare. I wanted to just let people know like, yo, I’m actually this way inclined […] When it comes to business and my work, I’m not shy at all, I don’t hold back with that. The album features a blend of epic orchestral elements with strings and horns as well old school beats taken from neo-soul and jazz rap among many other genres.Such a strong start and end, Introvert and How Did You Get Here being my favourites on the whole album. She was standing outside London’s Roundhouse theatre in a throng of teenage boys, trading verses over rough, beatboxed grime instrumentals. Whether (or how) a pop star could be an introvert is the sort of topic that could fill a book—or an album. Thank God For Little Simz This album was my first experience listening to Little Simz, and frankly, I wasn't expecting much.

Over the course of her lush, expansive, defiantly sprawling new album, “Sometimes I Might Be Introvert”, released on Age 101, Little Simz delivers an undeniable modern classic, effortlessly condensing any number of disparate styles and genres into music which thrillingly broaches the gap between urgent modern treatise and hip hop.The pairing fits: More conversation than sermon, Simz makes hefty subjects—familial rifts, systemic racism, youth violence—more manageable. It’s hidden in the title, too: Shorten Sometimes I Might Be Introvert to an acronym and you get SIMBI, the nickname that Simz, real name Simbiatu Ajikawo, goes by among her friends. I find myself absolutely awestruck at the maximalism of this record, almost akin to if not better than Kanye's My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy. As the sentiment and wonky syntax of her fourth album’s title suggests, Simz – born Simbiatu Ajikawo – prioritises self-expression over crowd-pleasing, bandwagon-jumping and sometimes even basic legibility (although the title makes more sense once you realise it spells out her nickname, Simbi). I love the sound, I love the vibe, I love the personality that little simz brings forward, I love the production, I love the album cover and I just love how unique this whole project sounds.I Love You, I Hate You" hits hard with Little Simz venting her feelings about her father as backing vocals scream the title. Disc 1 sounded absolutely perfect, but anyone else has this hideous static sound that comes back around every other second on all of side 2-A ? Being relatively new to the hip hop genre and in a mood to hear more, I checked out highly acclaimed Sometimes I Might Be Introvert, and I'm glad I did!

Little Simz – Sometimes I Might Be Introvert (2021, Red

An absolutely bold, and beautiful, a record that feels like human revolt being displayed intimately and colorfully. On I Love You, I Hate You, she speaks to her estranged father, reckoning with fury, disappointment, love, forgiveness, empathy and vulnerability in the process. Recorded at Hive Mind Studios in Brooklyn, NY, with the help of producer/arrangers Mike Buckley and Vincent Chiarito (both members of Charles Bradley's Extraordinaires) and crack team of a-list musicians, his upcoming album blends heavy arrangements and introspective lyrics with sophistication, leaving the listener in a blissful wash of wonderment. A starring role in Netflix’s Top Boy reboot, countless cover shoots, and a grab bag of awards and nominations have stationed her on the cusp of household-name status in the UK. Much of it has been concerned with figuring out who Little Simz is and where she stands; Sometimes I Might Be Introvert still tugs at that thread.By accepting all cookies, you agree to our use of cookies to deliver and maintain our services and site, improve the quality of Reddit, personalize Reddit content and advertising, and measure the effectiveness of advertising. The highly anticipated new album from the Ivor Novello Award-wining and Mercury nominated artist, Little Simz. Not that there's anything wrong with hyper sexual lyrics, it's just that Little Simz purposefully removes herself from this stereotypes and finds ways to empower herself and other women. It’s a trust thing as well: when you go into making an album with someone, there has to be a high level of trust because it’s not going to be an easy ride. This album is theatrical in everyway, from the opening song's loud booming horns and echoing mantra of "There's a war" setting the stage for just what kind of album you are stepping into.
